A victory for New Zealand Croatia, against a Kapaki side featuring two former first-class players in Dean Askew and Glen White and Northern Spirit's Emma Parker, was the perfect way to start the 2020s.

Luke Franich made his debut for us in this annual fixture at just 14 and Luke's father John whipped up a CricHQ fixture for us with scoring - thank you John.
We managed to field 10 Croatian players and one guest player, as well as debuting two new players, batsman Luke and swing bowler Edmund Sumich who both received their caps.
Everything ran smoothly, and pretty close to time! The game started just after 10.30am, and finished around 5pm - Could have been quicker if it wasn't for some rain and hail in the middle of a drought.
An enjoyable day by all, everyone had an opportunity and contributed. A real highlight was seeing the debutants add value to the match and it was great to see this meant a lot to them post-match.
Kaipaki were great hosts and we look forward to doing it all over again next year!
